Madeline’s deliberately eclectic career and education choices are driven by her dedication to artful, equitable, and sustainable communities… and her deep need to doodle. Her professional experience includes 18 years of visual communication design and consulting for public and private clients ranging from the U.S. Department of Education to Adidas, as well as forays into landscape design, urban design, and parks and recreation planning. She holds master’s degrees in Landscape Architecture and Community and Regional Planning from the University of Oregon, and a bachelor’s degree in Studio Art from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She studied sustainable design at the Monteverde Institute in Costa Rica, and art and language at the University of Bordeaux in France. Madeline also finds time to organize for racial justice, travel to far flung places (and close-by gems), eat so much food, watch zombie movies, and tromp through the woods with her two misfit dogs.
